2012 Winner of the IndDesign Awards, a regional competition honoring excellence in interior design and architecture. Also featured in L Magazine and IndHome. The clients had an uninviting, overgrown strip of land between their existing homesite and neighboring property. They sought to reclaim the area for a welcoming, functional space for frequent poolside entertaining. The project features a semi-enclosed 550 square feet pergola with 8" western red cedar columns, 12” beams, and tongue and groove ceiling. Eco-friendly composite wood was chosen for the decking, which is built around two mature existing palm trees. Effort was taken to ensure maximum use of the area and provide seamless integration with the existing structure. The design team chose conservatively priced, quality materials that would withstand local climate conditions and last for many years to come.
